It is free to sign-up with the Lucid Arts Project and users can use the system for free for ever if they choose the free plan. This plan has a limit of five works but would be good for artists who are getting started but still need some exposure on the internet.
You can sign-up for any of the plans and you will get a 30-day free trial so you can really test the system to see if it works for you. After 30 days, simply pay the monthly fee for your chosen package or downgrade to the free one for ongoing free usage.
What can you do with the system?
Once you have registered (take a look at the plans and sign-up here) you can start uploading and managing your works straight away.
The foundation of the system is the works. These are basically the building blocks or the raw ingredients. You upload your works into a library and can categorise them. To display them on your site, you put them into one or more collections. You can create as many collections as you like and a work can be in more than one collection at a time.
If you have enabled the selling options in your profile, you can mark a work as being "for sale" and you can set the price and shipping options for each work. You can also set global shipping prices that apply to all works as well.
Works and collections can have detailed descriptions and works can have more than one image associated with them to allow for close-up detail shots or variations on a particular work (often the case with jewellery).
If you have one-offs, you can continue to display the works online even if sold by simply marking them as not for sale.
