Amie McCarron works from her home studio in Petone, Wellington. She won the National Womans Work Art Award in 2006 and has featured in the media. Amie paints because she loves the act of painting itself. She paints intuitively preferring deep rich colours to create pieces that exude warmth and create a sense of calm, serenity and romance. It is important to Amie that her art has a positive quality and brings pleasure to the viewer. Her style shows versatility and has an exploratory feel as she produces contemporary landscapes or pieces incorporating elements of New Zealand nature and figurative works highlighting the beauty of the female form. Amie’s preferred medium is acrylics on handmade high quality handmade stretched canvas frames designed to last. Now a successful exhibiting artist, Amie’s work is held in private collections across New Zealand and the UK and can be found in numerous New Zealand art events and galleries. Amie invites people to visit her personal website www.bluebubble.co.nz and view her full collection of works.
